Topic: Week 1
Hoosain D. Banoo, Reporter Training
Today Da Hwa Elementary School began its first day of a three-week long winter camp. Da Hwa is in Niaosong County, Kaohsiung close to Cheng Ching Lake.
Starting January 29, 2007 the English Department decided to have an English winter camp for students interested in learning English during the winter vacation in Taiwan. The program will end on February 16, 2007. All classes will be taught in English. To date there are only 60 students, and four classes. Morning classes are textbook based, while afternoon classes are based on special subject teaching.
The morning classes are arranged from basic to advanced: Class A through D. Class A (Teacher Hoosain), Class B (Teacher Agnes), Class C (Teacher Bruce) and Class D (Teachers Jaco and Regina). The afternoon subjects: Art Class (Teacher Casey), Reporter Training (Teacher Hoosain), Science (Teacher Leonard), Cooking (Teacher Regina) and Story Book Making (Teacher Agnes).
Students have found the first day very interesting, and for the more advanced classes "more challenging."
